PRINCIPAL AND DIRECTOR OF DANCE RHYTHMS |
|
Susan Cooper has been dancing since the age of five, taking her very first dance steps at a local children's dance class in Oxford run by Vic and Terry Marsden who ran the very well respected Marsden academy of dance.
Susan feels she owes much to her first teachers, who gave her the strong foundation in dance that she carries forward with her today.
In later years she even went on to become head teacher in this school.
Susan competed in under 8 events known as juveniles and also 12-16 yrs known as junior level. It was during this period of time that she then began to train in London at the Wimbledon dance studios with the world renown Mr Patrick Plumb, a true master in the world of ballroom and Latin dancing. Through this connection came a deeper understanding of dance and a move forward into the amateur competitive world.
Susan always knew that she wanted teach and it was a natural progression that this should happen.
Today she runs one of the largest and most successful dance schools in England namely Dance Rhythms, which caters for all styles and ages, from the complete beginner to professional.
Susan has been teaching for over 30 years. She holds many qualifications in Ballroom, Latin, Classical and
Modern Sequence,, Salsa, Theatre, Rock n Roll, Belly Dance, Hip Hop, Street, Freestyle and of course her love
Argentine Tango, all up to Fellowship level, which is the highest degree
possible.
Susan is an examiner of the UKA (United Kingdom Alliance) and also holds the proud position of director within the society a post that she has held for the last
9 consecutive years.
Susan is very well known and sought after for her lecturing. She has wealth of
experience in this field, lecturing to fellow professionals at conferences and
guest lecturing at an array of diefferent dance schools. Susan is a very busy
examiner and adjudicator and has spent the last 10 years working very closely
with dance professionals in Cyprus. Running seminars on the island and examining
at the many UKA dance schools.
As well as teaching for many holiday companies, Hotels and notable TV work. Susan also
